Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:14AM. Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 7.41%), Torrent Power Ltd.(up 1.41%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.19%) and Tata Power Company Ltd.(up 0.71%) were among the top gainers. Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(down 5.00%), KPI Green Energy Ltd.(down 4.73%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(down 4.07%), Energy Development Company Ltd.(down 3.94%), KEC International Ltd.(down 3.84%), Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.(down 2.92%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(down 2.72%), Suzlon Energy Ltd.(down 2.67%), PTC India Ltd.(down 2.65%) and CESC Ltd.(down 2.56%) were among the top losers. The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 49.6 points at 23155.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 132.6 points at 76387.78 at around 10:14AM. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.18%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 1.1%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.81%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 0.63%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.58%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.5%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 0.39%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 0.37%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.37%) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.37%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack. On the other hand, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 4.55%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 2.14%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 2.03%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.91%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.56%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.32%), Trent Ltd.(down 1.27%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 1.24%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.12%) and Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.11%) were trading in the red.
