Consumers are reacting to changes companies are making that impact employees and customers. And, according to a report by Newsweek, companies are responding. The new survey by Newsweek and Statista highlights America's Most Responsible Companies for 2025. In its sixth year, this list acknowledges 600 U.S.-based companies for their commitment to making a positive global impact. To determine the winner, companies headquartered in U.S. had to receive scores based on the three pillars that include — environmental, social and corporate governance concerns. These three scores were combined to assess the company's overall corporate social responsibility score from 30 key performance indicators, such as energy usage and charitable donations, as well as a reputation survey of more than 26,000 U.S. consumers the report stated. The Garden State has 21 companies on the list, with the number one hailing from New Jersey. For the second year in a row, the top spot was awarded to Merck, with an overall score of 97.83, up from 91.98 in 2024. Merck is a pharmaceutical company headquarted in Rahway, New Jersey. \"We aspire to be the premier research-intensive biopharmaceutical company.
