    Montco commissioner authors letter to Warren Buffett seeking assistance for SPS Technologies' workers

    Montgomery County Commissioner Neil Makhija wrote a letter to Warren Buffett, CEO and Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, on March 14, 2025, seeking assistance to save jobs at SPS Technologies, a manufacturing company in Montgomery County, PA. The company recently laid off 250 employees, approximately half of its workforce. Makhija suggested using a small portion of Berkshire Hathaway’s $334 billion cash pile to invest in the workers and the community. SPS Communications Director David Dugan stated that the company will compensate employees through May 18, 2025, and will communicate about future employment status. The county will host a job fair for affected workers in April.
