Older adults may face some challenges when it comes to maintaining good eyesight. But there are many actions available to preserve precious eyesight including regular eye exams.Dr. Jessica Schuman, owner of Mile High Senior Eye Care, will discuss protecting vision at the Seniors’ Council of Douglas County meeting on Thursday, March 7 from 10-11:30 a.m. at MorningStar Senior Living in Parker located at 18900 Mainstreet. Dr. Schuman was raised closely with her grandparents and witnessed firsthand the difficulties that older people may have when it comes to managing their health and well-being. Addressing the under-met need for geriatric eye care is the purpose and drive behind Dr. Schuman’s completely mobile eye care practice.Older adults and those who support older adults are invited to participate in the Seniors’ Council of Douglas County meetings, which are held the first Thursday of the month at various locations in Douglas County. Seniors’ Council promotes Living Well/Aging Well. Seniors’ Council aims to enhance quality of life and assure accessibility to all through advocacy, education, and collaboration. Older adults are encouraged to engage in activities taking place in Douglas County.
