Plans for the Westerly Park residential development in Yulee continue to advance. The Nassau County Development Review Committee recommended approval of civil plans for Townhomes of Westerly Park in the Wildlight master-planned community Aug. 12. David Weekley Homes is building the 124-unit project in the northeast portion of the community, in Wildlight’s town district east of Interstate 95 and north of Florida 200 near Wildlight Elementary School and the YMCA at Wildlight. David Weekley is a new homebuilder to Wildlight. It said in July 2024 that it planned to construct the town homes on 20- to 35-foot lots. Townhomes at Westerly Park are recommended for approval by the Nassau County Development Review Committee. The DRC is a technical advisory board that makes recommendations to county department heads before final consideration. It is not a decision-making body. Pulte Homes is the other Westerly Park builder. In October 2024, the DRC recommended approval of its civil engineering plans for 402 homes on 50- to 60-foot lots. Pulte estimates its homes will bring more than 1,000 residents to the area. Model homes are under construction and a Wildlight spokesperson said sales should start this fall. Rayonier, through Wildlight LLC, owns the land for Westerly Park. At full build-out, the neighborhood is expected to comprise more than 500 homes. Plans call for Suncatch Park, an amenity center with an open-air pavilion overlooking a family pool and a six-lane lap pool near a playground and picnic area. A groundbreaking took place in July and completion is expected in summer 2026, the spokesperson said. Raydient Places and Properties, a subsidiary of Rayonier Inc., is developing Wildlight, which launched in 2016 and is planned for 24,000 homes. Nonresidential projects included the Publix-anchored Crossings at Wildlight shopping center in 2022, UF Health Wildlight in 2019, and the Rayonier headquarters in 2017. The county’s first Wawa opened July 11, 2024. Baptist Emergency and Imaging Center at Nassau Crossing opened Nov. 7, 2024, followed by a freestanding HCA Healthcare emergency center March 10.

The development, owned by Rayonier through Wildlight LLC, is part of a larger 24,000-home project. Model homes are under construction, with sales expected to begin this fall. Groundbreaking occurred in July 2024, and completion is projected for summer 2026. The project includes amenities such as Suncatch Park, featuring a family pool, lap pool, and playground. Other developments in Wildlight include the Publix-anchored Crossings at Wildlight shopping center, UF Health Wildlight, and Rayonier headquarters, with additional community services like the Nassau Crossing Wawa and Baptist Emergency and Imaging Center opening in 2024.
