    A recent survey conducted by Appinio reveals that Germans have a very negative perception of the online marketplace Temu, with 18% holding a very negative view. The survey indicates that Temu is criticized for poor quality, lack of security standards, and legal loopholes. In contrast, countries like Spain and the USA have a more favorable view of Temu. The survey involved 6,000 participants across six countries, with 5,800 having prior knowledge of Temu. The survey was commissioned by the e-commerce service provider Remazing. Another survey by the market research institute IFH shows that 83% of consumers in Germany are skeptical about Temu due to product quality issues and concerns over counterfeits. Temu ranks sixth in terms of sales volume in Germany, with approximately 1.3 million purchases made between January and June 2024. The EU Commission has initiated a proceeding against Temu, focusing on issues related to illegal products.
