Polish state energy giant Orlen opens first public hydrogen refuelling station
Orlen, the Polish state energy giant, has inaugurated its first publicly accessible hydrogen refuelling station in Poznań, marking a significant step towards greener energy. The station, part of Orlen's plan to open 100 such facilities by 2030, is supplying hydrogen to the city's fleet of hydrogen buses and is now open to the public for hydrogen-powered vehicles. Orlen aims to create nine 'hydrogen hubs' across Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, with plans for more stations in major cities like Katowice, Warsaw, Kraków, Gdynia, and Bielsko-Biała. The company received €62 million in EU funding for this project, with each station expected to refuel up to 34 buses daily.
