The service branch will determine the contract’s work sites and funding with each order, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.\n\nWork on the contract is expected to be completed by June 12, 2029. Work on the contract is expected to be completed by April 26, 2030.\n\nIn addition, GD-OTS secured in April 2024 a spot on a potential five-year, $3.05 billion contract to provide the Army with medium caliber training cartridges on a per-order basis, with work completion expected by April 4, 2029.\n\nUS-Canada Manufacturing Facilities\nIn October 2024, GD-OTS and the Army’s Joint Program Executive Office for Armaments and Ammunition opened a new factory in Marion, Illinois, for the manufacture of M119A2 propelling charges for 155mm Howitzer platforms. The company operates from more than 27 locations across the United States and Canada.\n\nThe GD-OTS Canada operation is programmed for investment and technology support under an Army agreement with the Canadian Commercial Corporation signed in March 2024. Under the undefinitized contract between the two parties, GD-OTS Canada will work with the Army to boost production of 155 mm artillery ammo.
