MARYLAND — A grocery chain plans to open another location in Maryland, complete with six weeks of grand opening deals, while celebrating its latest store in the state last week. Meanwhile, a beloved dock bar has reopened at a new site, check out photos.

Six Flags in Bowie not only will close permanently at the end of the year, but it has canceled the popular Fright Fest. 

A dock bar that closed its Annapolis location last year reopened last week under new ownership in Baltimore.

An active gaming facility recently opened its first location in Maryland at The Avenue at White Marsh in the former Pier 1 Imports space.

The grocery store chain Lidl opened its first location in Bethesda Wednesday in a former Safeway store.

The new Bowie Lidl US spans approximately 27,000 square feet and becomes the seventh store in Prince George's County and the 22nd store in Maryland.

Season passholders were informed that Fright Fest is not happening this year in Bowie and were instead given a ticket for the Fright Fest at the theme park's New Jersey location, Six Flags Great Adventure.
