    ZeroAvia’s new Everett center ‘a huge step in decarbonizing’ aviation

    ZeroAvia, a British-American company focused on hydrogen-electric powered aircraft, opened a new 136,000-square-foot Propulsion Center of Excellence in Everett, significantly increasing its operational space. CEO Val Miftakhov highlighted the center's potential to employ hundreds and its role in producing hydrogen-electric propulsion systems. The company aims to certify a propulsion system for a 20-seat airplane by next year and a larger powertrain for a 30- to 90-seat plane by 2027. ZeroAvia has secured nearly 2,000 preliminary orders for its systems and is exploring innovations to enhance hydrogen storage efficiency.
