Feature: Future innovators take the wheel
Students from two Perth schools, Team Mazzarati from Mazenod College and Speedy Gonzales from Belridge Secondary College, have won top honors at the 2025 Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP) WA Finals and will represent Australia at the global H2GP World Finals in Germany. The event, hosted at Murdoch University, involved designing, building, and racing hydrogen-powered remote-control cars in an endurance format. The winning teams demonstrated strong engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with participants gaining insights into hydrogen energy's potential and challenges. The competition is sponsored by Chevron Australia and aims to inspire young people in STEM and clean energy careers. Both teams will compete in a six-hour race in Germany, with an additional two-hour Girls in STEM event.
