Over half (56%) of active gen AI users in India consider the technology 'a good friend': Accenture research
Accenture's Consumer Pulse Survey 2025 reveals that 56% of active generative AI users in India view the technology as 'a good friend,' reflecting deep emotional connections. The survey of 18,000 consumers across 14 countries shows that gen AI is influencing consumer thought, feelings, and purchasing behavior. In India, 95% of users seek or would seek AI for personal development and social advice, and 95% use it for purchase decisions. Nearly 93% of Indian consumers use standalone AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude or access AI through social media and search. Rising consumer uncertainty — up from 18% in 2023 to 55% in India in 2025 — highlights the growing role of AI in daily life. Brands are responding with personalized recommendations, timely suggestions, and community engagement, with 94% of consumers wanting tailored product recommendations and 90% valuing brand community connections. Accenture is supporting gen AI initiatives for major brands including Best Buy, Bath & Body Works, Unilever, and Mondelez International, emphasizing the need for human-centered, intuitive AI experiences.
