Cayman Islands Now Requires Licensing for Crypto Custody and Trading Companies
The Cayman Islands is implementing new regulations that require crypto custody and trading firms to obtain a license by April 1, 2025. Companies already operating in the country must apply by June 29, 2025, to comply with the Virtual Asset (Service Providers) (Amendment) Regulations. Major crypto firms like Coinbase, Binance, and Bitwise have already obtained licenses, while others like Sui Foundation have established headquarters there.
