A startup building the agentic operating system for investment firms has secured a £440k grant to scale the business. London-based AlphaLoops has been awarded the UK Smart Grant by Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, making it one of only 2% of successful applicants. The firm is developing AI agents that will automate investment management operations. This includes automating requests for proposals, due diligence questionnaires and developing sales pipelines. These AI agents will allow investment firms to drastically increase productivity and efficiency across sales, marketing and investor relations practices. The result will be investment professionals dedicating more time towards making deals and focusing on growth rather than admin and due diligence tasks. The funding will be used to build the engineering team at AlphaLoops and to develop new functionality into the startup’s AI agents. Eric Personne, founder and CEO of AlphaLoops, said: ‘I spent my career working for some of the world’s largest investment banks and most innovative investment firms. I know first hand the amount of time that is spent on operational tasks and processes, distracting senior investors from revenue-generating activities. Our AI agents will transform the way investment firms operate and drastically increase their efficiency.’ AlphaLoops was founded in 2023 after the founders met during a founder residency run by Antler in London. The founding team combines domain experience in finance with technical expertise. Eric Personne, the co-founder and CEO, spent 20 years working in finance, holding leadership roles at the likes of Citi, Merril Lynch and Societe Generale. Fred Johnson, co-founder and CPO, was a product manager at Lendable and previously worked for Barclays Investment Bank. And Tys Bradford, co-founder and CTO, is a serial AI founder who has held multiple senior engineering roles, most recently at Zava.
