Higher ATM Fees, Rural Bank Mergers: Here's What Will Change Starting May 1, 2025
Starting May 1, 2025, ATM withdrawal charges will increase to Rs 23 per transaction, up from Rs 21, and savings account holders at RBL Bank will receive interest payments monthly instead of quarterly. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approved the hike in ATM interchange fees. Additionally, the government is consolidating 15 RRBs across 11 states into one, reducing the total number of RRBs from 43 to 28. Shriram Finance Limited has revised its Fixed Deposit (FD) interest rates, offering an additional 0.50% for senior citizens and 0.10% for women depositors.
