At Govt Hr. Sec School in Vengampakkam, Tamil Nadu, India, teachers have voiced deep concerns about the impact of contaminated drinking water on their students' health. The school's primary water source, a borewell, lacked any form of purification, leading to frequent illness among students.

Thanks to the generous support of Columbia Sportswear and their licensee partners, Planet Water Foundation has installed an AquaTower water filtration system at the school. This initiative ensures that clean drinking water is now accessible to all students, staff, and the surrounding community, alleviating the burden of waterborne illnesses and fostering a healthier environment for all!

Good vision helps kids achieve more in school and participate in activities, including sports. Yet vision and eye health issues can easily be overlooked without routine eye exams. 

VSP network eye doctor and sports vision specialist Keith Smithson, O.D. of Northern Virginia Doctors of Optometry and Sports Vision Pros recently celebrated 10 years of teaming up with VSP Vision Eyes of Hope and Marchon Eyewear to provide free vision care for scholar-athletes attending the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy. 

Over 70 camp participants from various Washington D.C. communities in need were able to take part in this event.

The Red Dot Design Award is a prestigious international annual design competition for product and industrial design, brand and communication design, and design concepts. This year, The Red Dot: Best of the Best has been awarded to ZEISS Group for the groundbreaking VisionClip design. VisionClip, part of the ZEISS Group Fall/Winter 2024 eyewear collection, is the visionary expression of ZEISS Group’s dynamism for new, empowered vision experiences.

VisionClip is a full-rim titanium frame designed in a timeless navigator shape, featuring a double bridge construction complemented with wafer-thin, high-tech beta titanium temples complete with laser cut engineering, making them lightweight, flexible, and durable with a refined look.
