Today is the #UNDay As MSCAN Uganda, we are proud to be creating impact in the attainment of sustainable development goals(SDGs) in particular #SD3 . By 2030, maternal mortality must have fallen below 70 deaths per 100,000 live births.

I am delighted to share that MSCAN Uganda hit the 10k impact milestone. To date, we have scanned 10,246 pregnant mothers who would have never afforded or accessed an antenatal ultrasound scan. As a desired outcome, we have flagged 1312 fatal maternal complications and the pregnant mothers have received the required medical intervention like a caeserian section. MSCAN Uganda manufactures and deploys low-cost portable ultrasound probes that can work on a laptop or phone to detect risk factors of maternal mortality among pregnant mothers in resource limited settings. This has included deployment in Bidibidi and Palabek refugee settlements in Northern Uganda to serve the most vulnerable. Super grateful to our partners along the journey who have brought financial resources, mentorship, key knowledge, international immersions among many valuable contributions to make this journey a success.
