The Deutscher Gehörlosen-Bund e.V. (DGB) is a social, cultural, and professional self-described leading interest group of deaf people in Germany and a forum for the sign language community. It informs its members, people professionally dealing with deaf people, and the public about current issues. The DGB is active on a federal level for about 80,000 deaf people and people with hearing impairments and sign language and advocates for the protection, promotion, and strengthening of their rights and interests in many different areas.
