In the last days of 2023 Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) released the beta version of the third revision of the #ElectronicBillOfLading (#ebl) standard. #DCSA, backed by carriers, is one of the most significant standard-setting bodies at the moment. CargoX is glad to be a part of the journey. We strongly believe that standardisation will drive adoption. We applaud the commitment of multiple carriers, including MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, A.P. Moller - Maersk, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd AG, Ocean Network Express, EVERGREEN LINE, Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp., HMM and ZIM Integrated Shipping Services to full digitization of the #BillOfLading by 2030.

#CargoX has been one of the most vocal supporters of #interoperability in the #logistics industry. It currently allows customers to create and exchange #ElectronicDocuments using the DCSA 2.0, as well as the upcoming 3.0 standard. All in #ETDA-compliant matter. 

New standard furthermore brings support for HS codes, to better qualify the products being shipped, and increase interoperability with other documents. Users of #CargoXPlatform can use this data to incorporate it into any of the other 50+ document types that CargoX supports.

CargoX has worked on #interoperability pilots and proof-of-concept trials with several other service providers, carriers and shippers, showing that #interconnectivity is not merely achievable, but possible already today. Electronic document and data exchange in #shipping industry brings many benefits, including higher #InformationSecurity, better overview, less mistakes and reduced costs of business. 

New milestone: more than 6 million electronic trade documents processed.

CargoX has achieved a new major milestone, as the CargoX Platform for Blockchain Data Transfer (BDT) has processed more than 6 million electronic trade documents. The Cargox Platform for BDT makes it easy to create and share electronic trade documents, including several types of electronic bills of lading (eBL), implementing Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA), FIATA International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations, BIMCO eBL standards with maximum efficiency and security, helping create digital trust in the digital world. 

CargoX Platform for BDT introduces frictionless interaction to economic operators and governmental entities, and provides optimised performance through single point of entry, automatisation, security and tamper-proof features. The platform is integrated into the Egyptian customs ACI filings process, where it has operated since March 2021 with zero downtime. 

It is used by more than 120,000 businesses and organisations worldwide, and is one of the leading providers of blockchain-based electronic trade document solutions. 

Just last year, CargoX signed a memorandum of understanding with the Republic of Uganda on the development of its TradeXchange platform. It will be built in partnership with Technology Associates and based on the CargoX Platform for BDT. 

It is also cooperating with Abu Dhabi Customs by providing them with a blockchain solution for their Invisible Customs System, and closely cooperating with banks on decentralised finance (DeFi) projects. 

The 6 million processed documents is just the latest milestone, as more exciting developments await in 2024.
