#CES2024: Today, Ambarella announced that we are bringing generative AI capabilities to edge devices, and we introduced our N1 system-on-chip series for on-premise applications. During CES Ambarella is demonstrating multi-modal large language models (LLMs) running on this new N1 SoC series at a fraction of the power-per-inference of leading GPU solutions. We aim to bring generative AI, a transformative technology that first appeared in servers due to the large processing power required, to edge endpoint and on-premise hardware, with wide-ranging applications including video security analysis, robotics and a multitude of industrial applications.

#CES2024: Today, Ambarella and Kodiak Robotics announced that Kodiak selected Ambarella’s CV3-AD685 AI domain control SoC as a complete embedded compute solution for its next-generation autonomous trucks. Kodiak is moving its AI perception and machine learning systems to Ambarella’s domain controller for higher AI efficiency and performance in long-haul trucking fleets—including multi-sensor perception, fusion and path planning—running neural networks while processing multiple cameras, lidars and radars.

“The CV3-AD685 enables the Kodiak Driver, Kodiak’s autonomous system, to turn sensor data into actionable insight with lower latency, lower power consumption and higher reliability,” said Don Burnette, Kodiak’s Founder and CEO. “We are excited to exhibit a Kodiak autonomous truck at Ambarella’s invitation-only event during CES for the second year in a row, demonstrating how our partnership furthers the mission of autonomous trucking.”

Ambarella today unveiled our full autonomous and semi-autonomous driving (AD) software stack, optimized for our CV3-AD Central AI Domain Control SoC Family, and scalable for L2+ and higher autonomy levels. The neural network-based AD stack and SoC were co-developed to provide superior AI performance per watt for perception, sensor fusion and path planning. The stack also provides real-time HD map generation from perception, eliminating the need for stored HD maps.
