zCloak's Cloaking Layer Secures $100k Grant from DFINITY Foundation zCloak Network is honored to announce that its latest product–the omnichain Zero-Knowledge (ZK) proof verification layer, Cloaking Layer, has received a $100,000 developer grant from the DFINITY Foundation. This grant, part of DFINITY's "Developer Grant Program," aims to support zCloak Network in launching an advanced ZK verification infrastructure for all blockchains. The project is expected to reduce ZK verification costs from tens to hundreds of dollars on Ethereum to mere several cents and provide out-of-the-box omnichain coverage for various ZK application development projects. As a long time Web3 tech provider, zCloak Network focuses on providing trust and privacy protection in the digital world through ZK Proof and Decentralized Identity (DID) technology. Their latest project, Cloaking Layer, leverages the advanced features of the Internet Computet (ICP), aiming to democrotize the ZK technology, allowing more users to benefit from its advanced features. Cloaking Layer aims to offer blazingly fast, ultra low-cost and highly secure ZK verification services, easily integrating with other blockchain networks. ZK Proof technology plays a critical role in data privacy and security, generally containing two processes: proof generation and proof verification. Cloaking Layer focuses on the verification part, innovatively integrating various zkVM verifiers into WebAssembly (WASM) and creating a universal ZK verification environment within ICP Canisters. Combined with ICP’s Chainkey technology, Cloaking Layer can achieve real-time cross-chain interoperability, ensuring that verification results are accurately and credibly transmitted to any target blockchain network through threshold ECDSA signatures. Since January 2024, zCloak Network’s Zero-Knowledge Proof Co-processor developed on ICP has successfully operated for EVM chains and Solana testnet through a demo game based on this technology, demonstrating its potential for omnichain Zero-Knowledge Proof applications. For developers and Web3 project, Cloaking Layer offers a “ZK-as-a-Service” business model. For those looking to integrate innovative and optimized ZK features into their products, Cloaking Layer can help incorporate privacy protection functions, enhancing system trust and security. Currently, Cloaking Layer is primarily targeting Ethereum L2, Bitcoin L2, as well as public blockchains like Solana and Sui, supporting applications in identity, DePIN, AI, payments, zkML, and ZK Co-processors. This grant represents a significant milestone in zCloak Network’s mission to democratize ZK technology. With the support of the DFINITY Foundation, zCloak Network is poised to make substantial progress in the development and application of Zero-Knowledge Proof, pushing privacy and security to the forefront of the digital revolution, and reshaping digital identity security and data privacy protection in the Web3 era.

👏 Earlier today, the founder of zCloak Network , Xiao Zhang , was invited as a panelist at the International Web3 Conference hosted by the Western Australia Web3 Association and Global Fintech Institute. ✍ Panel speakers discussed privacy and trust in the Healthcare scenario, and how Web3 can address to problems that the status quo is facing. Dr. Zhang introduced zCloak’s successful efforts on its privacy-preserving solution regarding storage, usage, and ownership of personal data. Essentially, users are enabled to store and do computation on their own data within their own devices, without the intervention of any type of centralized cloud or servers. Cutting-edge technologies such as Zero-Knowledge Proof, W3C standard Decentralized Identifier and Verifiable Credential, and high security-level Cryptography are leveraged within the framework. With zCloak’s solution, anyone can easily store, selectively disclose, and flexibly prove aspects of their data in an easy-access, trustless, and secure manner. 🏥 In the scenario of global healthcare and medical data handling, zCloak’s work can be put into context as a way of letting patients keep their medical records attested by, for example, doctors, hospitals, or other providers, in their own hands; and additionally, they would have the authority to share the information they want with others freely and securely. The core value of this solution stands at how personal data is not only privatized, or to say, individually controlled, in a secure and trustless way, but the flexibility and efficiency of data sharing and usage are also not compromised, which means authentic data which its integrity has been attested to, can be shared or proven in multiple ways across different platforms, organizations, and entities.
