FMC is proud to receive the 2023 Community Partner of the Year Award from ServiceSource, Inc Delaware (SSD) for our work with SSD’s FrameWORK for Success Program. SSD manages the only on-site, paid training and assessment program for 18 to 22-year-old high school students with disabilities in Delaware, US.

This recognition is a result of our Stine Research Center Discovery Biology team's efforts with SSD to provide training and job opportunities for people with disabilities. Ethan Mayes, who leads the Bioassay Production Team at Stine, works closely with SSD to provide meaningful work for a team of individuals that supports our potting and seeding operations. 

“The coaches and students of SSD are truly a determined and productive group of individuals. FMC supporting employees in building these types of relationships at work is a testament to FMC’s commitment to providing a diverse and inclusive work environment for everyone,” said Mayes. 

“While earning a paycheck from SSD, students reported to a more inclusive, 'real work world' operation working alongside FMC researchers and engineers, and FMC benefited by having the entire operation brought in-house," said Richard Katz, FrameWORK for Success Program Manager.

A year ago today, FMC announced the Cultivating Freedom campaign with the international humanitarian organization, The HALO Trust to allocate 3% of revenue generated in Ukraine to support its demining efforts throughout the country. 

Thanks to the collaboration of FMC and The HALO Trust:

🔹 25 mechanical support and non-technical survey teams were created, working in four regions of Ukraine – Kyiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv.
🔹 More than 1 million m² of land were surveyed, and over 27 thousand m² of Ukrainian territory were cleared of mines.
🔹 Over 500 explosives were detected and disposed of. 
 
FMC is proud of these incredible accomplishments and its collaboration with The HALO Trust. Together we are working to improve farmers' safety and well-being and further support Ukrainian food production and global food security.

2023 saw record-breaking temperatures across the globe, extreme weather events, and unprecedented losses to nature, people, and business. Companies have a crucial role to play in driving transformative action on climate and nature, but we can’t manage what we don’t measure.

Happy Lunar New Year from FMC! Did you know that Lunar New Year is celebrated on a different date each year because it’s based on the Lunar calendar around the cycles of the moon and sun? This year, it’s observed on February 10 and the multi-day celebration gives people the opportunity to spend time with family and friends by cooking and eating traditional dishes. Lunar New Year is also a time of change and new beginnings. Every activity during the celebration has the purpose of removing the old, welcoming the new and preparing for good luck.

Happy Black History Month from FMC! We encourage you to join us in celebrating the accomplishments and richness of the history of the Black community. Let’s take this opportunity to learn, grow and honor Black and African American figures.

There are numerous groundbreaking inventions and innovations today that owe their existence to the invaluable contributions of Black and African American individuals. In particular, we would like to highlight Henry Blair. Blair was born as a free man in Maryland in 1807 and went on to be a successful farmer and innovator. He became the second African American in U.S. history to receive a patent. It was for a machine he called the Seed-Planter. This invention was designed to make planting corn faster and more efficient. It revolutionized the way farmers planted corn and many other crops.
