🛫  Aviation Workforce Development 🛬  — We’re thrilled to receive a $500,000 grant from the FAA to unlock new career paths for aspiring aviation maintenance professionals as one of only twenty programs selected by the agency.

We’re committed to helping address the aviation maintenance workforce shortage and broadening access to careers in the sector. This grant will accelerate the establishment of training courses and earn-and-learn programs within our Part 145 Repair Station, and we greatly appreciate the FAA's direct support.

Joby in Ohio — We’ve acquired a facility at Dayton International Airport and begun hiring in Ohio to support our initial manufacturing operations in the Miami Valley region. Later this year, once the facility has been outfitted for production, we’ll begin subtractive manufacturing of aircraft parts.

The acquisition of this on-airport facility is the first step in our plan to develop facilities capable of building up to 500 aircraft per year in Dayton.

Federal Aviation Administration Administrator Mike Whitaker stopped by our mobile flight simulator at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in Queens, NYC, to fly the Joby aircraft and discuss our joint efforts to prepare for the introduction of eVTOL aircraft into the national airspace. 

We deeply appreciate the FAA’s commitment to both safety and innovation as we continue to lead the industry towards bringing electric air taxis to the public.

The Joby team is hard at work running endurance tests on our propulsion system and propeller assembly in support of our aircraft certification program. 

Using the unique test stand pictured here that we developed and built in-house, we're able to log many hours of high-fidelity performance data on this integrated system without flying an aircraft.

LEADERSHIP ON CERTIFICATION – We're pleased to have been the first electric air taxi company to complete the first, the second, and now the third stage of the FAA certification process.

With all of our certification plans accepted, we’re now completely focused on Stage 4 and 5 as we continue to ramp up our for-credit testing across aircraft components and systems.
