The Daily Journal of Commerce Oregon (DJC) featured Shortstack Milwaukie – a collection of 15 two-bedroom cottages offering affordable homeownership through Proud Ground’s community land trust model. “Shortstack” reflects both the compact nature of the homes and the complex “stack” of funding sources. The project progressed with support from Metro’s $652.8 million affordable housing bond, private investments, and a new political openness in Milwaukie to embrace growth in areas previously limited to single-family zoning.
