This week, YCOE and Yolo County leaders participated in the 8th annual Breaking Barriers Interagency Symposium in Sacramento. The conference seeks to connect leaders from child-serving systems for advanced collaboration. In all, 36 participants from Yolo County were in attendance. County Superintendent Garth Lewis and First 5 Yolo Executive Director Gina Daleiden presented a panel on shared leadership.

Congratulations to Yolo County Board of Education President Shelton Yip for receiving the Robert E. Kelly Award by Association of California School Administrators . The statewide award recognizes an individual who upon retirement has contributed significantly to public education or educational leadership by volunteer work in their community.
