So, two things caught my eye here, and correct me if I am wrong:
1. They conflated what should have been millions with billions ("when China’s PP consumption, translated into millions of tons, was 34.6 billion tons from a population of 1.4 billion people")
2. The key take away is after all the ethene cracker capacity that has recently been developed in China, there is not enough demand domestically. A wall of excess capacity will feed thorough as a lot of surplus supply looking for a home, depressing PP prices, and subsequently affecting demand for recycled material. This, just as we need to be building capacity to supply the recycled content to bee meeting the various 2025/2030 targets brands and governments have set themselves?
