Today we had the biggest AI Budget Explorers meetup yet! Thanks again to our guest speakers, Nick Mastronardi from Polco and Brendan Hellweg from Holly . Nick introduced to Polly, a new AI tool that draws on thousands of data points about how local governments are doing on economic, environmental, health, safety and other measures of well-being. Using evidence of how, say, housing burden and crime are related, Polly can help predict the future and inform budget priorities. Brendan showed us Holly's tools that use AI to provide up to date market data on salaries, rapidly update position classifications and descriptions, and more effectively find talent to fill positions. Filling vacant positions is critical for maintaining service performance and reducing overtime and contracting costs.
