Seabound is looking for a Controls Software Engineer at Seabound to join our team in London!

This incoming hire will join our engineering team to co-own the design, implementation, and testing of controls software to run our carbon capture system.

🚢 Examples of what you'd be working on
- Design, develop and maintain the software and control system of Seabound’s ship-based carbon capture system 
- Architect, write, verify, and debug hardware controls code, backend and frontend software, and automated tests 
- Develop software tools and systems for data collection, storage, analysis, and reporting
- Collaborate closely with other engineers on the team to understand system requirements
-Work closely with customers, suppliers, contractors, and partners to accelerate product development

What we're looking for 🔎
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical/computer engineering, computer science, robotics, mechatronics
- 1-3 years relevant work experience
- Experience with Python, C/C++, Javascript/Typescript, and / or Rust
- Familiarity with embedded development (SBCs, microcontrollers, PLCs, etc)
Hands-on experience building and debugging electro-mechanical systems
- Someone who is resourceful, ambitious, excited to tackle hard problems that no one has solved before, and holds themselves and others to a high standard 
- Someone who is passionate about decarbonizing the shipping industry and tackling the climate crisis

Are you ready to spend the summer at our London R&D facility working with a world-class engineering team advancing carbon capture technology for the global shipping industry? 

 🚢  The R&D test engineer intern will...
- Support and develop hardware test campaigns to anchor analysis with real world data, including test design, integration, operation and evaluation of results
- Lead testing of Seabound prototypes; both in terms of execution of procedures, and improvment of processes for future testing
- Collaborate closely with other engineers on the team; contribute to growing and building a strong engineering culture and team
- Anything else that needs to be done in an early-stage startup

What we're looking for 🔎 
- Pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related discipline and previous work or internship experience
- Hands-on experience building and testing real world parts
