1KOMMA5° wurde im Sommer 2021 von Unternehmern und Branchenexperten mit dem Ziel gegründet, Gebäude ganzheitlich CO2 neutral zu machen durch den Einsatz von Photovoltaik, Wärmepumpe und Ladeinfrastruktur.
 
Umgesetzt wird dies durch die Bereitstellung von Technologie für eine dezentrale, saubere Energie-, Mobilitäts- und Wärmeversorgung. Durch das intelligente Energiemanagement "Heartbeat" und den dynamischen Stromtarif "Dynamic Pulse" garantiert 1KOMMA5° immer den günstigsten und saubersten Strom aus Sonne und Wind.

Dabei beteiligt sich 1KOMMA5° an besonders innovativen Handwerksbetrieben aus den Bereichen Photovoltaik, Stromspeicher, Ladeinfrastruktur und Wärmepumpe, um einerseits das regionale Handwerk zu stärken und andererseits eine hochwertige Beratung und Installation beim Kunden vor Ort zu ermöglichen. Zurzeit betreibt 1KOMMA5° über 65 Standorte mit rund 1.500 Mitarbeitenden von Europa bis Australien.

Zusätzlich arbeitet 1KOMMA5° an der Vernetzung und Steuerung dezentraler Erzeugungsanlagen, mit dem Ziel, das Potenzial der dezentralen Energiewende vollständig zu realisieren. Unser CEO und Co-Founder Philipp Schröder wird als Speaker beim CHEFTREFF Gipfel 2024 in Hamburg mit dabei sein. Der Gipfel ist das größte Non-Profit-Event für aufstrebende Talente, junge Führungskräfte und Startups, die die Zukunft von morgen gestalten wollen.

This powerful quote by Al Gore now adorns one imperfect PV module, rescued from becoming trash by artist Jan Windauer, who transformed it into a stunning piece of art. Last week, we hosted our first 1KOMMA5° Art Vernissage at our Hamburg showroom. 👉 Our goal was simple: repurpose D-grade, non-functional, or damaged solar panels into unique pieces of art. Inspired by the elements of wind and sun, as well as our mission to reduce CO2 emissions, the masterpieces were sophisticated, unique, and succeeded in convincing guests to buy and donate. 

👩‍🎨 👨‍🎨 We gave the artists full creative freedom to interpret our 1KOMMA5° vision. Artist Anton UNAI drew inspiration from Greek mythology, portraying Helios, the god of the sun. In ancient Greek mythology, Helios guided the sun chariot across the sky, symbolizing the rhythm of the sun that we follow at 1KOMMA5°.

Artist Stefanie Thiele shared her journey of overcoming the fear of not being a skilled painter by upcycling discarded items she found on the streets into art. This process helped her conquer self-doubt and achieve success as an artist.

🌱 At 1KOMMA5°, we're dedicated to making an impact! While our focus is on providing clean and affordable energy for all, we also prioritize supporting important causes. That’s why 50% of the proceeds from the art sales will support Viva con Agua in making drinking water accessible.

When we talk about implementing sustainability into our lives, we focus on reducing plastic, consuming less meat, and taking public transportation. However, an aspect that often goes unnoticed, is how we use #IT! Keep in mind that every interaction with Google or openAI involves training models and generative techniques that consume significant amounts of energy.

🌱 💻 🌱 Yesterday, the 1KOMMA5° Showroom was abuzz as we hosted the event "Sustainable IT: Green Code for a Better Future," in collaboration with Women Techmakers Hamburg.

For those who missed it, here are some key insights from our speakers:
🔹 Doreen Sacker, MLOps Engineer at 1KOMMA5°, shared principles for green coding and emphasized the importance of performance measurement. Did you know, our 1KOMMA5° web pages, including job application portals, meet an A+ standard according to web optimization tools? Doreen also highlighted the criticality of hosting servers in the EU, where clean energy is utilized, due to the high energy consumption of software.

🔹 Katharina Fetzer, Head of IT at Hylane, explained how to build sustainable IT, noting that it's often still a side topic in companies. Transitioning to green clouds, such as those offered by Google rather than AWS, is an initial step.

🔹 Ellen Schwartau, Senior Software Engineer at 1KOMMA5°, presented daily hacks for green coding, encouraging us to integrate sustainability into our routines. For instance, she suggested questioning the necessity of every Google search or ChatGPT request! She appeals: “Keep your data clean and be aware that all of us can do a little to make IT greener.”
