We are excited to share that AESC has signed a supply agreement with Nidec Industrial Solutions, a global leader in stationary energy storage systems. Under this agreement, AESC will provide Lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries to Nidec Industrial Solution for over 3GWh on several projects globally.

This partnership between leading global companies will allow us to support customers with the most innovative and sustainable solutions as we expand our capacity to meet the growing demand for LFP Energy Storage Systems (ESS) around the world.

As part of our North American expansion plans, AESC has signed a long-term supply agreement with leading circular materials technology company Umicore. The deal will provide us with critical materials for manufacturing #EV batteries in our U.S. manufacturing facilities. 

In line with the “local for local” principle, this agreement will enhance and diversify our global supply chain network with additional regional supply resources and support our ability to meet the evolving needs of our contracted customers, including global OEMs such as BMW Group and many others.

AESC CEO Shoichi Matsumoto said: “This partnership and the supply chain enhancements it brings will allow our company to leverage Umicore’s proven ability to provide critical, high-quality materials at scale and advance our leadership in developing advanced and reliable EV batteries.”

Today, AESC placed the last piece of structural steel on our state-of-the-art 30 GWh gigafactory in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Joined by Governor Andy Beshear and other local leaders, this “Topping Out” ceremony marks a significant milestone in AESC’s progress toward completing our state-of-the-art gigafactory.

AESC Managing Director for the U.S. Jeff Deaton said, “we are confident that this gigafactory will not only strengthen local economies by creating thousands of new competitive clean energy jobs but also advance Kentucky’s position at the forefront of the fast-growing and global EV industry.”

With an expected opening of early 2025, the facility will contribute to production of AESC’s next generation of battery solutions, and help us meet the increasing demand for more energy-efficient electric vehicles across the globe. It will create an estimated 2,000 skilled jobs for the community, and is expected to power up to 300,000 vehicles annually by 2027.

Over the course of her career, she assumed roles of increasing local and global responsibilities, and she has been recognized for her transformational leadership and innovative contributions, with a strong balance of operational excellence. 
 
In her new role at AESC, Rosa will be responsible for defining the global human resources strategy and contributing to AESC’s continued expansion worldwide. Her global insights and expertise will be instrumental in enhancing AESC’s workplace environment, with a focus on innovation, inclusivity, and dynamic employee engagement.
