In the early days of Lyn Baranowski’s career, she was struck by how little research and development was going on with lung diseases and how critical these illnesses are. Today, she is the CEO of Avalyn Pharma Inc. and brings more than two decades of experience leading a vast array of functions in biotech, big pharma, and venture capital firms with a focus on the respiratory therapeutic area.

Baranowski has a passion for working in smaller companies, building teams and pipelines, and making a difference which is clear to her peers. At the end of September, Avalyn closed an oversubscribed $175 million Series C financing to now support a lot of exciting initiatives in the works.

Today, we’re highlighting Samiran De, who participated in the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) National Walk Day in memory of his uncle, a #PF patient who passed away after a year-and-a-half battle with the disease. The Samiran De Team achieved its fundraising goal to help support the PF community.
