On this heaviest of travel weekends, this report (link in comments) from CBRE is especially prescient.

“Loyalty programs are becoming less dominated by frequent travelers. Heavy users (30+ nights a year) comprise a declining share of total membership as loyalty points become more tied to credit cards and affiliate programs and less directly with travel frequency.” 

People love rewards programs, but they also seem to like greater choice in where they spend those points. Intuitively, this makes a lot of sense and may be one of many reasons Camber Creek portfolio company Bilt Rewards (not mentioned in the report) is so popular.

John R. Bradford, III, founder & CEO of Camber Creek portfolio company PetScreening, is impressive. He was recently honored as one of Charlotte, NC’s most respected CEO’s by Charlotte Business Journal.

John founded Petscreening in 2017 and built a novel technology platform for pet-friendly property owners and managers. Since then the platform has grown to more than 5.5 million multifamily units spanning over 23,000 communities across all 50 states. 

Petscreening isn’t just free for owners/operators. It’s a “found revenue” source as well. The company estimates its helped property managers and operators capture $72 million+ in pet-related revenue that would have been lost otherwise.

Camber Creek's series Creekside connects some of the best minds in proptech with real estate business leaders. Thanks to Arcadia's Kiran Bhatraju for coming out yesterday. Two of the many things I learned . . . (1) Some real estate owners don't know how much they're paying for electricity. So when you help them figure out that number then cut it substantially, the impact can be big. (2) Kiran's from Kentucky. Despite his help, I don't know if I will ever be able to properly pronounce "Louisville," and I may just need to make peace with that.

Ask Jake Broder Fingert what he said to Kiran to make him laugh like that.
