Today’s featured CarelonRx Pharmacist is Sarah Lim, PharmD. Sarah has worked in pharmacy over 12 years and celebrated her year anniversary here at CarelonRx this month. A graduate of the The University of Texas at Austin, College of Pharmacy , Sarah shared with us one of her most rewarding experiences helping a patient. “A patient came to the pharmacy seeking an over-the-counter (OTC) medication to alleviate a medical condition. Due to their circumstances, they had limited access to a doctor. I recommended an OTC medication for them to try. A couple of months later, they returned to inform me that the medication I had recommended significantly improved their condition. A graduate of the University of Arizona, College of Pharmacy, Matthew tells us about one of his most rewarding experiences that helped a patient manage their healthcare costs. “One of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had as a pharmacist involves helping a patient with HIV manage their high healthcare costs. By leveraging prescription patient assistance plans and strategically scheduling prescription refills for the start of the new year, I was able to work with the patient to ensure all out-of-pocket expenses were covered efficiently.
