Recently, Depop enjoyed a Dog Day Afternoon Bake Sale in support of Fetcher Dog. 🍰 

Depop HQ was filled with tails and treats and all for a fantastic cause. 

Our very own 'Star-Bakers' shared their talents with an array of bakes. Plus, a special treat came from none other than Amos, the talented baker from this year's Great British Bake Off. 

Whilst dogs are always welcome at Depop HQ, we dedicated the afternoon to dog cuddles and came together to raise funds for an incredibly worthy cause.

This Black History Month Depop teamed up with the Black@Depop safe space and welcomed our good friends at SOJO to Depop HQ - they were on hand to repair and tailor our clothes to perfection and answer all our fashion dilemmas. 🪡

We closed the day by ‘Celebrating our Sisters’ in collaboration with BlackCreateConnect, hosted by Gani Imafidon and Alicia R.. 

Depop employees came together with delicious food from Two Nigerian Boys, One Love Kitchen and Belly's Taste of Jamaica and enjoyed an incredible lineup of spoken word pieces by Poetikah, songs from Essy Maliya, Nicole Blackk, Kadi, Nina Rose, Neya Akuma and music by DJ D'lite.

We're thrilled to share our latest Engineering blog post where Rafe Colburn, our Chief Product & Technology Officer, delves into Depop's Engineering Principles.

These principles are the heart of our engineering culture and are now available for everyone to explore.

In a world where culture drives innovation, Depop believes that fostering the right environment is paramount. Our engineering culture plays a pivotal role, empowering us to deliver incredible user experiences, automate repetitive tasks, make data-driven decisions, and provide our team with the tools to excel.

We were absolutely blown away by the energy at our Seller Summit in September. 450 guests had a chance to learn about upcoming product updates, take part in workshops on social media strategy and business scaling and connect with Depop teams and other sellers. We wrapped up with a Q&A with Depop leadership, awards to recognise our community - and of course some 🔥 photo opportunities alongside pizza and happy hour. An amazing 98% of sellers attending said they’d recommend the event to a friend!

Last week Depop held our first ever ‘Inclusion Week.’ Running from 25th-29th September, it featured a lineup of spark-thinking events and workshops designed specifically for members of our Employee Resource Groups and Safe Spaces.

We wrapped up Inclusion Week with an all-company ‘Conversation on Allyship’ hosted by Benjy Kusi, Assoc CIPD from our DEI partner Hustle Crew. Our panel of Depop leaders; Farah Abuzeid, Anna Gradil and Danielle D'Lima spoke honestly about what they have learned about allyship throughout their careers – the actions that have helped, the challenges they’ve faced, and the ways in which they could have shown up differently in order to better advocate for those around them.

Last week, Depop held it's first Depop x BlackCreateConnect event, inviting the Black Create Connect community into the London HQ for an insightful and inspirational panel talk. 

The evening focused on diversity and inclusion with discussions led by employees from our Operations, CX and Tech teams - Jess C. Khadra Aden Robert S Wright Aaron Boakye Danielle D'Lima, followed by breakout sessions where the community connected 1:1 with our panellists, learning more about what it's like to work at Depop.

The night was topped off with some amazing food and special guest DJ Rachael Anson.

Our Chief Marketing Officer Peter Semple caught up with Creative Review recently to talk about Depop’s journey over the last decade into a creative-led, curated, community-driven commerce platform. 

The feature looks at our team's work to engage directly with digital culture - including teaming up with Apple Music and HBO Max - and show up for our community effectively in the real world as a digital-first brand. The ultimate goal? Making secondhand fashion accessible and "more interesting than defaulting to buying the new thing".
