E8 Angels is an investment network that connects investors with cleantech ventures in the United States and Canada. The organization facilitates funding opportunities for cleantech startups seeking Seed to Series A funding.

E8 (formerly known as Element 8)is a member organization of private, accredited angel investors . Our sole focus is on early-stage cleantech companies whose innovations will increase the sustainability and health of our planet.  We meld our pursuit of profitable investments with our pursuit of a higher purpose – accelerating the transition to a cleaner future and a better world.

Our members, whether seasoned investors or new angels with a desire to learn, gain access to quality deal flow and the tools for successful investing. Cooperative due diligence, a powerful business network, and relevant, timely education allow members to make individual investment decisions, and to build a unique and diverse portfolio that matches their interests and goals.

Element 8 provides our entrepreneurs with investment capital, along with the contacts and guidance to help them achieve market success.

Philanthropic impact investing is the gift that keeps on giving! 
Here’s how it works:

1. You make a charitable donation of any amount to Decarbon8-US through E8’s 501(c)(3) partner Realize Impact

2. Decarbon8-US uses contributions to make equity and debt investments in early-stage companies aligned with decarbonization priorities. We use investor and sector expertise to select the most promising 3-4 cleantech company from a pool of applicants to receive funding. 

3. The winning cleantech companies use the funds to help transform our energy system and create a more sustainable world!  

4. When the companies exit, returns on investments from donations under $20,000 are automatically reinvested into the fund - magnifying their impact and uplifting more innovative solutions in subsequent rounds.
