Sharing some BIG news! 🚀🚀 Today, Heartcore Capital is excited to announce the first close of our new dedicated Web3 fund. 

Heartcore Capital Web3 I is a crypto-native fund dedicated to protocols and their native tokens, with a focus on the application layer. We are thrilled to have completed an initial closing of €15M.

Why a dedicated Web3 fund? We believe that the shift towards protocols is an extension of the software revolution of the past three decades and foresee protocols progressively disrupting parts of the economy, like previous internet startups. Web3 protocols are now evolving into robust businesses generating meaningful revenues and accruing significant value. They often showcase higher capital efficiency and virality than traditional startups.

Why now? Two years into a crypto winter, while all eyes have turned to AI, Web3 is a contrarian bet once again. Uncommitted investors and founders have left, the signal/noise ratio has improved, valuations are reasonable again, and expectations are in check. Besides, for the first time, a new cohort of founders are building upon an infrastructure that is finally ready for wider adoption.

Our journey into launching a crypto fund was not a coincidence or a sudden decision. Our investment team is crypto-native at its core. Yacine Ghalim began privately investing in protocols as early as 2013, joining the very first rounds of investments of multi-billion dollar protocols like Ethereum, Cosmos, Polkadot, 0x, Stax, or Stargate.  Angelo Panumaht Goepel and Yohan Pereira have been crypto power-users and investors throughout multiple market cycles. 23-year-old Thor Hartvigsen H. has amassed a significant influence in the space with over 100k devoted followers.We already started backing founders in early private rounds. We are thrilled to announce our investments in Panoptic, Elusiv Association , LI.FI , Superform Labs, Rhinestone and Metahood. We'd also like to thank these teams for their trust.

Heartcore Capital's Annual Investor Day 2024! 🎉 

This year we held our annual investor meeting at Park Bio; which is a nearly 100-year-old cinema at the heart of Østerbro, recently purchased by Laura Forné Elkow and her husband, Rasmus Møller-Nielsen. 📽 🎞 

Laura kindly made sure that fund performance and portfolio updates were accompanied by an abundance of popcorn and soda. 🍿 🥤

We are very excited to welcome Thor Hartvigsen H. to the web3 investment team at Heartcore! Thor has been in crypto since 2020 and has built an online brand educating people on various aspects of decentralized finance which has grown to 110.000+ followers across Twitter and Youtube. Thor is based in Copenhagen and focuses particularly on liquid venture investments. He is currently completing Computer Science and Economics degree at the Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen. We are thrilled to have him join the Heartcore family. 

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Phillip Chambers as CEO of Orbex - Phil co-founded Peakon, a Heartcore porfolio company, which sold to Workday for $700M in 2021.  We strongly believe that Phil will lead Orbex into a new era of growth -  he has more than two decades of experience in building innovative companies and scaling technology platforms for some of Europe’s most successful start-ups. 

Orbex also welcomes the former director-general of the Spanish Space Agency, Miguel Bello as executive chair.

The pair join at a critical time for the UK space sector, which is rapidly developing the necessary capabilities to launch satellites into orbit for the first time. Collaboratively, they will aim to establish Orbex as the leading orbital launch company in Europe 🚀.
