𝐄𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐮 𝐂𝐚𝐤𝐞/ 𝐒𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐤𝐞/ 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐤𝐞

It is an amazing Kerala tea stall snack that is crispy from outside, soft inside and filled with amazing flavours. Vettu Cake is a sweetened dough which is fried in hot oil, is a popular tea stall snack .

𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:-

Maida- 1 cup
Baking Powder -1/4 tsp
Sugar- 1/4 cup
Cardamom Pods-3-4
Rava- 1 tbsp
Ghee -1 tbsp
Salt- 2 pinch
Milk -3-4 tbsp
Indic Wisdom Safflower Oil 

𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝:-

1. In a mixer grinder add sugar, cardamom pods and rava. Grind it to a fine powder.
2. In a bowl add maida, baking powder, pinch of salt along with sugar mix powder.
3. Add ghee and combine everything well with a spoon.
4. Now make a chapati dough consistency, by adding 3-4 tbsp of milk to it
5. Apply little ghee on top of it and mix again . Cover and keep it aside for 1 hour
6. Now take two portions of dough and roll it to a log shape
7. Press in centre and give a square shape
8. Cut it. And give a cross cut in the centre. Do not cut deep
9. Once the oil is hot start adding this prepared Vettu Cake to it one by one.
10. Cook at low -medium flame. Cook until it turns golden in colour.
11. Enjoy it with a kattan chai( black tea).
