Flat panel antennas (FPAs) are gaining traction in the satcom industry. But adoption has been slow, and several factors threaten widespread adoption, including cost, complexity, and regulatory compliance.
 
According to this recent article from NSR, an Analysys Mason company, FPAs could revolutionize the comms-on-the-move (COTM) market, if they can improve quality and performance and develop global network compatibility by ensuring that antennas are compatible with multiple satellite networks.
