Maison Boulud Singapore officially opened its doors at Marina Bay Sands yesterday, bringing a unique dining experience by internationally acclaimed chef and restaurateur Daniel Boulud to the iconic integrated resort. Like its award-winning sister concept in Montreal, the French restaurant is poised to enhance the dining experience in Singapore through Chef Daniel Boulud’s signature style of cooking – soulful French cuisine grounded in the rhythm of the seasons and inspired by his travels.

“Chef Daniel Boulud is synonymous with an unwavering commitment to culinary excellence and a pursuit of perfection.... We look forward to elevating our guests’ experiences with the addition of Maison Boulud to our family of distinctive dining options at Marina Bay Sands,” said Paul Town, Chief Operating Officer, Marina Bay Sands.

We launched our annual Lunar New Year light up in a stunning display of lights and celebratory moments last night. It started with a rousing performance by Singaporean singer-songwriter Nathan Hartono, followed by dragon and lion dance performances and a modern Chinese art display by Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre.
 
As part of the event, we unveiled two majestic 40-metre-long dragons in front of the grand Dragon’s Gate at The Shoppes, in anticipation of the Year of the Dragon. The stunning display was complemented by 88 koi fish decorations, 28 blooming lotus lanterns and an iridescent dragon’s pearl, in a contemporary interpretation of ‘The Legend of the Dragon Gate’. 
 
These spectacular decorations bring festive cheer to Marina Bay Sands and create the perfect photo moment for locals and visitors alike, presenting the resort as a must-visit destination this Lunar New Year.  
 
The celebrations continue with The Legend of the Dragon Gate – Drone Show by the Bay.

What better way to kickstart the Lunar New Year than to bring smiles to seniors in our community! Last Friday, we collaborated with long-term partner Care Corner Singapore Ltd. to celebrate the Year of the Dragon with around 80 seniors. During the event, around 40 Team Members accompanied our beneficiaries for a morning filled with games, festive delights and entertaining performances by volunteers and fellow seniors.

This lunch is part of our ongoing partnership with Care Corner to render assistance to seniors experiencing social isolation. Since 2021, we have actively participated in Care Corner’s Neighbour Cares programme, during which our volunteer befrienders make weekly visits to isolated seniors’ homes to offer companionship.

“Over the years, this partnership has developed from giving financial support to finding opportunities for our Team Members to befriend the seniors and volunteering in special events like these, and we hope we can continue with it,” said Nicholas Ionides, Vice President of Communications & Corporate Affairs, Marina Bay Sands.

Earlier this month, we successfully hosted the second edition of our Sustainability Action Day at Sands Expo & Convention Centre, bringing together over 1,100 of our Team Members with our environmental partners to foster positive contributions to our planet.

Among the highlights were a sustainable bazaar, educational game booths and the debut of our Clothes Swap event in collaboration with The Fashion Pulpit. Team Members participated enthusiastically, shopping from each other's wardrobes to promote a more sustainable fashion culture.

The culinary experience was equally mindful, featuring plant-based delights crafted by our talented chefs. With TiNDLE chicken wonton, Impossible™ Swedish meatballs and Portuguese egg tarts made with locally-sourced eggs, the menu showcased our commitment to exploring sustainable dining.

Joining us at the event was our partner Waterways Watch Society, who shared on the importance of protecting our waterways. As the recipient of our Drop by Drop grant this year, funds will support Waterways Watch Society's educational school programmes, which actively contribute to the cleanup of waterways across Singapore. 

We thank our Team Members for their support in these endeavours as we continue our journey as a company towards a more sustainable future!

We are thrilled to unveil our first-of-its-kind partnership with Singapore Tourism Board and UOB, one which promises to enliven the Marina Bay precinct for locals and tourists. This partnership focuses on introducing appealing lifestyle and entertainment programming for the Bay, including the launch of over 50 exclusive experiences in partnership with more than 19 precinct stakeholders.

“The Marina Bay precinct has the potential to be a canvas for cutting-edge lifestyle programming, with its diversity of hotel, attractions, retail and dining partners located in close proximity to our integrated resort. The partnership with STB and UOB allows us to further develop our first-in-class Bay Precinct Strategy, which offers business travellers a richer and varied bleisure experience,” said Irene Lin, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer (Resort Marketing), Marina Bay Sands.  

The partnership takes flight in February with a spectacular waterfront drone light show at the Bay, in celebration of Lunar New Year. Titled “The Legend of the Dragon Gate”, the show will present the story of the mythical Dragon King, brought to life through 1,500 drones set against the iconic Singapore skyline. Visitors can usher in the Year of the Dragon with a 10-minute drone performance, which runs at 8pm on 10, 11, 12, 16, 17 and 18 February.

Beyond the festive season, the three partners will also continue to embark on joint marketing initiatives to promote the Marina Bay precinct as a world-class lifestyle destination and entertainment hub. Such initiatives will be timed with upcoming opportunities in Q1 2024 such as the highly anticipated Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour in Singapore, of which Marina Bay Sands is the Official Presenting Partner and UOB is the Official Bank and Presale Partner, as well as the Rod Stewart “Live in Concert, One Last Time” tour held at Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

ArtScience Museum is set to shake up the cultural calendar later this year with a slate of highly anticipated exhibitions. 2024 will be ArtScience Museum's Year of Extraordinary Women with major shows that examine, celebrate, and uncover the stories of women whose lives have influenced society throughout the decades. The exhibitions range from focusing on inspiring artists and screen legends to strong female characters seen in the epic movies of one of the most beloved animation studios in the world.

The first exhibition to headline this new season is Goddess, a glamorous and powerful exhibition launching in April which highlights iconic women in film and television who have defied expectations, overcome stereotypes, and influenced ideas of femininity through their impact and representation on screen. 

In May, the Museum will present Frida Kahlo: The Life of an Icon, an immersive exhibition about the life and work of iconic Mexican painter Frida Kahlo – one of the most influential women artists of the 20th century who is best known for her uncompromising and vibrant self-portraits dealing with themes such as identity, the human body and death.

In October, ArtScience Museum will present one of its largest and most ambitious exhibitions to date. The World of Studio Ghibli celebrates the iconic films of Japanese animation powerhouse Studio Ghibli, which has produced some of the best loved animated films of all time. This major immersive exhibition features large-scale, interactive theatrical sets from across the studio’s history, inviting visitors to meet some of their favourite characters as well as traverse the enchanting worlds of iconic films such as My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away.

“Our exhibitions and programmes this year will explore and celebrate the stories of women who have challenged narratives, defied expectations, and transcended conventions… We will make 2024 a landmark year for ArtScience Museum,” said Honor Harger, Vice President, ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands.

We are delighted to reaffirm our commitment to the development of Singapore’s arts scene through a S$500,000 donation to invest in the future of emerging art forms and innovative creators. This contribution is part of our efforts to drive impact and inspire change through our community engagement programme, Sands Cares, under which support for the arts is a key pillar.
 
The donation marks the establishment of the Sands Innovative Arts Fund under the National Arts Council (NAC)’s Sustain the Arts Fund (stART Fund). This move exemplifies our organisation’s dedication to nurturing emerging talent and our efforts to leverage new technologies in artmaking and audience engagement, providing opportunities for growth to the creative community. 

The Sands Innovative Arts Fund marks one of the biggest donations Marina Bay Sands has made in support of the arts since our opening in 2010. The Fund aims to support emerging artists in their creative outreach to the community, as they explore new technologies and innovative ways of artmaking and audience engagement. This donation to stART Fund may be eligible for dollar-for-dollar matching support under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY)'s Cultural Matching Fund, which will raise the total contributions up to S$1 million to further the growth of emerging artists and small arts organisations across the nation. 
  
“[We are] proud to play a role in shaping the future of the arts scene in Singapore. This donation reflects our commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in the arts space for future generations," said Paul Town, Chief Operating Officer, Marina Bay Sands.
