We’re grateful to each member of the Mighty Buildings team who have worked together to make our collaboration with the Buckminster Fuller Dome Home Visitor’s Center a success. Not only has our Mighty Kit System significantly reduced onsite construction time, but it’s been done sustainably and with near zero waste onsite, and it’ll continue to provide a resilient structure as the center welcomes visitors in the future – an approach we like to think would satisfy Bucky.

We're thrilled to embark on a groundbreaking project with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Habitat for Humanity. Supported by the California Energy Commission, we'll be developing novel manufacturing and sustainability technology and delivering three advanced prefabricated low-carbon townhouses in Bay Point, California, which will benefit low-income families (80% AMI or less) via Habitat for Humanity

The super structure ready to go at the Buckminster Fuller Visitor Center! The steel frame holds the 3D panels and is a critical part of the Mighty Kit System, enabling infinite design possibilities, certified for up to four stories in height,  and providing part of the durability that makes our structures hurricane, wind, and earthquake resistant.


With our 3D panels printed and ready for the Buckminster Fuller Visitor Center, we’ve shipped them out to the site of the Fuller Dome Home. This is one of the longest journeys our panels have made to date. One of the benefits of Mighty Buildings agile production is our ability to in the future quickly construct microfactories close to our developments, reducing carbon emissions and further shrinking build times.

Panels are being 3D printed and will soon be heading to the “Bucky Dome" in Carbondale, IL as Mighty Buildings works to construct a state-of-the-art 3D printed Visitor Center at the R. Buckminster Fuller Dome Home using our Mighty Kit System.

At the heart of the Mighty Buildings process is our patented proprietary LUMUS™ panel material that is stronger yet lighter than concrete and far more sustainable. Composed of 60% sustainably sourced & recycled materials, this composite stone uses less material helping us to move closer to our goal of a zero-waste production process. Our parametric panels are insulated and milled in-house so that they arrive ready for installation.
