By connecting AI tools to other software and data sources, we can automate tasks and turbocharge our productivity in powerful ways.

Recently, I used an AI tool called Perplexity, combined with the workflow automation platform Pipedream, to streamline lead enrichment for our sales team. Previously, we'd receive lead lists with just basic contact details like name, email and company. Using this AI-powered automation, we can now instantly retrieve the website, phone number and a helpful business summary for each lead.

Here's a walkthrough of how it works:

1) A new lead is added to our CRM (ActiveCampaign in this example)
2) This triggers a Pipedream workflow that interfaces with Perplexity's API
3) Perplexity uses the company name to search the web and retrieve the website URL
4) It also looks up the most likely phone number for that business
5) Finally, Perplexity analyzes the company's website and online presence to generate a concise summary of what they do and what services/products they offer
6) All this enriched lead data is then written back to the CRM record for that contact

What used to require tedious manual research can now be done automatically in under a minute per lead. By connecting AI to our existing tools and workflows, we've supercharged our sales productivity in a way that was unimaginable just a few years ago.

This is just one example, but the possibilities are endless for using AI as a force multiplier when it's integrated with other systems. Sales, marketing, customer support, operations - every domain stands to benefit from adopting an "AI +" mindset versus treating AI as a siloed capability.
