Driving in its most beautiful form - six decades of the #Porsche 911

Ever wondered what engines powered the latest generation of the Porsche 911 - the 992?

The six-cylinder boxer engines of the current generation work powerfully and efficiently to deliver the highest performance. The basic engine in the Carrera, Carrera 4 and Carrera T is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine with 385 PS: the S versions deliver 450 PS, and 480 PS is provided by the GTS variants and the 911 Dakar. A 3.8-litre twin-turbo engine is used in the 911 Turbo (580 PS), the 911 Turbo S (650 PS) and the 911 Sport Classic (550 PS). The GT3 (510 PS) and GT3 RS (525 PS) super sports cars each have a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine.

#Porsche blickt auf ein besonderes Jubiläumsjahr zurück: 75 Jahre Porsche Sportwagen und 60 Jahre 911. Die Jubiläen bildeten den Rahmen für zahlreiche soziale Projekte, die das Unternehmen 2023 unterstützt hat. Besonders wichtig war es dem Sportwagenhersteller, Geldspenden mit ehrenamtlichen Einsätzen seiner Belegschaft zu verbinden. Mehr als 750 Mitarbeiter haben sich an gemeinnützigen Aktionen des Unternehmens beteiligt.

Therefore, Porsche and Make-A-Wish International cooperate to make 356 dreams come true for children around the world who have critical illnesses. One of those dreams: restoring a Porsche 944.

Evan had a rough time with weekly chemotherapy treatments. The 18-year-old was diagnosed with Langerhans cell histiocytosis. Especially during this time, he dreamt every day of restoring his first car, a Porsche 944. With the support of Porsche, his dream came true. The sports car became Evan’s emotional lifeline, providing the young car enthusiast with motivation and a reason to get out of bed even on the painful days of chemotherapy.

From its sportscars to its racecars, #Porsche has always been associated with speed and the thrill of driving. But some sportscars are a little more extreme than others – and that’s when a car becomes a hypercar. 

Just like the Porsche Carrera GT:
The Porsche Carrera GT is talked about in the kind of revered prose reserved only for the truly great cars. It was in 2000 that the Carrera GT concept, with legendary two-time world rally champ Walter Röhrl at the wheel, stunned visitors and motoring press alike when it was unveiled on the streets of Paris during its motor show. 

Three years later, at the 2003 Geneva International Motor Show, it did it again when the Carrera GT was officially launched. Like all of the cars in this list, the influence of Porsche motorsport technology was written large in the development of the Carrera GT. At its heart was a hugely powerful but lightweight 5.7-litre V10 engine – a first for Porsche – that evolved from a race engine originally developed for use in a Le Mans Prototype car but never actually raced at Le Mans.
