Easing myself back into work this week as I recover from my red-eye back from San Francisco 🥵 so I thought I'd share a quick 3 learnings from my experience last week at #PMWC2024 (PMWC - Precision Medicine World Conference).

1. The #precisionmedicine market is trending upwards 📈 : a lot of conversations were not just around trial data and R&D but focused on how we can scale these technologies post-market given the intricacies of manufacturing - in particular, a great session chaired by Morten Sogaard, featuring Pooja Agarwal, David Kirn, MD, Adrian Veres, and Thomas Wechsler, touched on this in great detail.

2. Patient experience is no longer an afterthought 🏥 : There are some incredibly passionate individuals and companies I spoke with who are forward thinking in their approaches towards running clinical trials in this space. We had some brilliant discussions with Jorge Gottheil from GRAIL, Masayuki Kotoku from Akros Pharma Inc., and Fang He from Amgen, centred around tackling this very topic.

3. Whilst the industry is incredibly collaborative, we all love a little competition 🥇 : The buzzwire at Sano Genetics booth was a hit! With an IPad up for grabs we had Eliad Josephson and Stephen Turner battling it out continuously all week, with Eliad coming out on top with a top time of 8.08 seconds. Apologies to our neighbours for all the beeping all week - the volume settings appeared to be fixed 😅

All in all, a great event for us at Sano Genetics. Seemed as if our session on bridging the gaps between recruitment, biomarker testing, and long-term patient engagement touched a nerve. If anyone wants to follow up on how we can support your precision medicine programs, do drop me a DM.

Precision medicine software platform Sano Genetics announced a $11.4 million raise led by Plural.

The only software platform tailored to running precision medicine clinical trials, Sano Genetics leverages AI to manage all aspects, from design to patient recruitment to genetic and other biomarker testing and patient engagement.

Precision medicine is a fast-growing category — today, more than 30 percent of trials are precision-driven and are predicted to reach 80 percent by the end of the decade.

Sano Genetics connects patients across four countries, including the UK, US, Australia and Canada, with pharmaceutical companies and biotech companies conducting clinical trials, making it easier for patients to access precision medical treatment and for companies to bring new, effective drugs to market quickly. 

By providing a digital matchmaking experience for conducting clinical trials, it's quick and seamless for customers to load their new trial into the Sano platform and include the criteria for patients they're looking for.

Sano Genetics Raises New Funds to Drive Precision Medicine

The $11.4M raised will drive its clinical trials software platform in precision medicine. The company, which was founded by Patrick Short, Charlotte Guzzo, and William Jones who met while studying for their PhDs at the University of Cambridge, has expanded rapidly.
