The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is slated to launch by May 2027, and Surface Optics had the privilege of contributing to a critical optical component of the telescope's advanced space Coronagraph Instrument (CGI). The fully assembled and tested CGI recently arrived at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where it will be integrated into the telescope. Surface Optics applied precision aluminum coatings to the deformable mirrors, which will be vital to achieving the instrument's state-of-the-art imaging performance.
