"When looking for an internship, I chose Tesco because my dad was a shopkeeper and I felt that Tesco trying hard for customers matched what I grew up watching my dad do, and I wanted to be a part of that.
 
I work in the Technology Programme team and I’ve been involved in a few projects within the recruitment area. Part of my role was to communicate and understand the scope of the project and those involved. I did this by creating a RACI report clearly highlighting who's responsible for each task and ensuring smoother communication and knowledge. 
 
Throughout my 10 weeks I’ve gained so many skills. I’ve developed my communication and scope management skills, and I’m also learning about pain points and the difficulties involved in a project and the resilience and problem-solving abilities needed to drive it forward.
 
The amount of support I’ve been given has been amazing. Firstly, my buddy who I connected with before I’d started plus my line manager who was incredibly supportive. He genuinely wanted me to have the best experience to learn and absorb as much as I could to get a good flavour for what project management is like. My team has also made me feel so welcome too. 
 
My perception of Tesco before was, its simply a store to pick up your groceries, now that’s changed drastically. The level and amount of technology underpinning Tesco is enormous and the level of detail and thought put into all the functions is incredible."
