In Doha, Qatar, the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has initiated the construction of the Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory (SSDL) project, the first of its kind in the country. Spanning 3,500 square meters, the project aims to enhance radiation safety and accuracy in the medical, industrial, and environmental sectors. The exterior design of the facility is inspired by Qatari culture. A delegation from Ashghal visited the Malaysian Nuclear Agency to explore global technologies in radiation calibration, contributing to the project.
