Spirulina Nord is a company that produces and sells spirulina products. The company grows spirulina in Latvia using technology developed to cultivate spirulina in Northern Europe.

It is great that Local and European #politicians are interested to visit #producers and discuss various support forms. 
Without various grants and accelerator support SpirulinaNord probably wouldn't be founded or not yet 5y ago and with such great development speed from one tiny #lab flask till several #industrial photobioreactors.

Insects in summer are awesome...under microscope 😅

This spring we moved to larger facilities to scale up our spirulina urban farm.
While the factory is not yet set we can use our production hall to host larger delegations.

Our 1st 20+ size delegation was from Invest in Latvia that also supports innovative companies and consults for export. It was our honour to present our past and future for so bright business supporters like Egita Aizsilniece-Ibema, Irina Rubinchik, Svetlana Lampiga and all others.

Dr.sc.ing. Agnese Stunda-Zujeva - CEO and Co-founder of SpirulinaNord Ltd. She has over ten years of experience in innovative solution design and various chemical engineering tasks. In 2019, she and other co-founders developed a start-up for growing spirulina, which is registered as a food producer. The company's idea grew out of a research project. 
SpirulinaNord is the only company in Northern Europe that grows the tropical algae spirulina in industrial quantities. It is also one of the few companies that sells fresh, tasty, healthy algae. 
The company's founders believe that biotech is a future field as smart technologies become more affordable. This way, they can better ensure ideal parameters for biomass growth and achieve higher quality with fewer resources.


Uldis Garančs – Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, ELWIND project department
ELWIND is a joint Estonian-Latvian state-run cross-border offshore wind project in the Baltic Sea, with the aim to strengthen regional energy market by investing into offshore wind electricity production and hybrid interconnection between Estonia and Latvia.
The project will help to increase the overall regional and European energy autonomy by contributing to the integrated and synchronized European electricity market.
With ELWIND the states organize the necessary preparatory work in the form of planning, studies, and permitting for the offshore areas. The permits and conditions for connecting to the grid will be auctioned out. This way, the states can offer greater certainty to the private developers that the wind parks can be built on indicated areas, as several risks have already been mitigated.
