The company's Biomaterials segment provides various pulp grades for paper, board, tissue, textile, and hygiene product producers; and tall oil and turpentine from biomass. Its Wood Products segment offers wood-based solutions, including digital tools for designing of building projects; sawn woods; and pellets for sustainable heating, as well as applications for windows, doors, and packaging industries. The company's Forest segment engages in sustainable forest management, as well as supplies wood. Its Paper segment provides paper products for print and office use. The company's Other segment holds an interest in Pohjolan Voima Oy, a company that produces electricity and heat. It serves packaging manufacturers, brand owners, paper and board producers, publishers, retailers, printing houses, converters, joinery, and construction companies. Industrikraft aims to provide a platform for Swedish industry to actively engage with energy companies and the government, offering valuable insights and expertise on energy issues. The founding companies are at the forefront of the industrial transformation necessary for Sweden to meet its climate goals. Electrification is a key element in this transition, and ensuring access to competitively priced electricity is essential for maintaining the competitiveness of Swedish industry.

The JCI Europe Conference in Oulu, Finland is well underway. JCI Europe is the regional representative of JCI (Junior Chamber International), a non-profit membership organization composed of young people aged 18 to 40. Its primary objective is to offer growth avenues that enable young individuals to initiate positive change in society. I was delighted to host the Commissioner for Climate Action Wopke Hoekstra yesterday. 

We discussed how Stora Enso’s renewable products make a twofold contribution to tackling climate change: not only do they replace fossil-intensive products, but our renewable wooden material is also a European strategic resource that supports the EU’s resilience and autonomy. I was therefore proud to showcase products ranging from renewable packaging, wood construction, textiles, bio-based anode materials for batteries and bio-based glues. All make significant contributions towards the green transition.
