Had a very pleasant visit last week to Oxford to meet my PhD advisor, Prof. Ian Page. Presented him with a copy of our recently released e-Yantra book along with a trophy of the e-Yantra mascot, eYan. 

Ian has been a great champion of e-Yantra from the outset and feels this is the way education should happen. He believes that project based learning can be taken even as far back as kindergarten. 

Prof. Ian Page is the director in Chipflow (chipflow.io) an innovative company specialising in custom IC design. There’s so much exciting research happening in the space where chip design, rapid prototyping and low cost fabs meet. There’s a lot that India can offer in this space. 

People know Prof. Ian Page for the design of the highly innovative high-level FPGA programming language called Handel-C and the startup, Celoxica, that promoted it. We used to teach Handel-C in the embedded systems course at  IIT-Bombay in the early 2000’s. It was an idea far ahead of its time. 

Great ideas might not always be appreciated when they first emerge but always return to take the world by storm later!! 👍🏽😊

Tomi Rantakari, Rob Taylor and Staf Verhaegen will be at the Free Silicon Conference in #Paris this week.

Staf will be talking on Project Arrakeen, a framework for scalable and portable digital and analog circuits. 

Rob will be running a session on industry participation at the Open-source silicon and EDA workshop to help determine recommendations to the #EU Chips Joint Undertaking
