We enjoyed the opportunity to speak at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health's Conference on Friday to discuss complementary and alternative medicine. Amanda Eilian had a rich conversation with Lulu Ge and Carol Huffman about the future of this space. 

The basic philosophy of complementary and alternative medicine is holistic care—a focus on treating whole person health—which is at the center of our work at Able Partners. 

As patient engagement with the traditional healthcare system declines, the broader healthcare ecosystem—payers and providers—will be looking for compelling ways to improve engagement. ⅓ of Americans do not currently have a primary care provider. Complementary and alternative medicine could become a compelling "front door" to the healthcare sector if payers and providers can find ways to partner.

We are very excited to welcome our inaugural Chief of Staff, Claire Akkan, to our team! Claire joins us from Prophet, a consulting firm, where she helped launch their consumer practice. 

Throughout the interview process, we were continually impressed by Claire. Her genuine curiosity, love of learning and interest in our areas of focus stood out. We are fortunate to have her on our team and we look forward to seeing her contribution across the fund!
